Trigger point dry needling is a technique similar to acupuncture, that uses a very thin needle that is pushed through the skin, to stimulate a trigger point.
A trigger point is an adhesion of bound up group of muscle fibres commonly called a knot. These knots can be very tender to touch and restrict the efficient movement of the muscle. Dry Needling is an effective and efficient treatment and is mostly less painful than traditional manual therapy, when the affected muscle and knot is especially painful and sensitive.
